The Host review Blog

"A fantastic, inventive, thoughtful, and powerful novel. The Host should come with a warning label: it will grab you and keep you reading into the wee hours of night, and keep you thinking, deeply, hauntingly, well after the final word. Stephanie Meyer captures characters and handles story line like a master--a hybrid combination of Stephan King and Isaac as Asimov." -Ridley Pearson, Author of Killer Weekend. About one fourth the stuff in the he wrote I also believed. The "keep you read into the wee hours of night" was true, but that might have been because of the hype from the media. I personally like simpler books with beautiful messages, like To Kill a Mockingbird and Walk Two Moons. Melanie and Wanda were too emotional for my taste, I'm more into writers who right about the heroine maturing and growing because of the people around them. This book is great for those who want entertainment or/and are a Stephanie Meyer fan, but if that person wants a book that really teaches a sweet lesson without pressing it in your face, I wouldn't really recomend this book.
