Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen (School Post 1)

Oringally, when I red this story, it seemed really boring, maybe it was because I was into this amazing anime (still am) when I read it, but anyway, here's the 411 on what I think. I keep thinking that I've seen the characters already, like Ruby the mama is Ren Sohma, Ruby the daugther is Bella Swam, Cora is Riku Harada and Jamie is Seth Clearwater (aka my all time fav bishi!!) I'm starting the warm up to the story now, mostly thanks to Geravis or whatever his name is, he's really cute. =^_^= I really recommend this story to those who like realistc fiction and realistic characters. It's the story of a girl named Ruby whose mom deserts her in one of her many voyages and Ruby is them forced to like with her older sister Cora and step brother Jamie. It's kind of depressing at first, but it's getting really interesting now, kinda like the book Flipped. My rating is 7.5/10, very, very good, it's worth the read.

The Host by Stephanie Meyer (Summer reading post)

Don't judge me...cause honestly it was good. The Host by Stephanie Meyer was my kind of Sci-fi book. I read some of the books in the Uglies series and loved it, but the raw futurist feel of the book just created a blur between me and the characters. In The Host, that blur wasn't there because the book focused more on the feelings of the characters, not what they were doing. It takes a gifted (>_<) author to get you to even like the bad guys, Stephanie Meyer was one of them. She doesn't come off as the usual writer, it's not her job, and yet she created likeable, hateable characters like real life people. Melanie, Wanda, Ian (aka Cosmo), Jamie (aka poochie), Jared and the gang really liven up the plot. My only complaint is that The Host was really similair to the Twilight series, but I doubt it being too bad. My rating 7/10, very good it can stand on it's own against other elite books, good job Mrs. Meyer.
